Information about the producers! 

Our rugs are woven by hand. The warp (the length-ways thread) is made of cotton and the weft (the thread running from left to right) is made from wool. The weaver is given the pattern and prepares the loom (often on the verandah of his home). The pattern is woven through by hand, pushing the threads back to create a thick/tight quality, the plank keeps the tension and ensures the rug is smooth and even. The thread needs to be neatly knotted to transfer colour at the relevant points.
