WOOLLEN RUGS

This beautiful woollen rug has been woven by hand in the traditional rug making are of Uttar Pradesh. Looms are set up outside the weavers' houses and workis done as a cottage industry in between farming duties. This weaving can only be done by men. A rug this size will take two men working as a pair up to three months to weave. Once it is woven it goes for finishing, final checking and packing before starting its long journey across the sea to UK .
